Our Team - Jason "Jay" Brown

Jason "Jay" Brown brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Woman with a Weapon team. With eight years of distinguished service in the U.S. military, Jay achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Team Leader. His military career saw him deploy multiple times worldwide, including two combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).

During his tenure in the military, Jay earned marksmanship qualifications for both rifle and pistol, demonstrating exceptional proficiency in firearms. After his enlistment, he continued to leverage his skills as a military contractor for two years, further honing his expertise in high-pressure environments.

Currently, Jay serves as a counterterrorism specialist for the Department of Homeland Security, where he applies his extensive knowledge and experience to protect our nation.

Jay is an NRA-certified Pistol and Rifle instructor, certified to teach concealed carry certification courses in North and South Carolina. With over 20 years of regular shooting experience, he has also attended numerous advanced courses, including tactical and defensive rifle/pistol classes, to continually enhance his skillset.
