GSSF FAQs

WHAT IS GSSF?

The Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) is a competition exclusively for GLOCK pistols. The matches are open to everyone including men, women, senior citizens, the challenged, and children. If you have a technical question, or would like your Glock inspected, a factory certified Armorer will be available onsite.

READY TO IMPROVE YOUR SHOOTING SKILLS?
Competitive shooting is a great way to develop your skills. Team GLOCK recommends GSSF for new competitors because it offers a family oriented, positive atmosphere that is welcoming to shooters of all ages and skill levels. Since 1991, GSSF has introduced many shooters to competitive shooting and offers a variety of levels and categories for competition. It's a great way to enhance important skills like safe firearm handling, transitions between targets, and accuracy.

I'M NEW, WILL I BE ABLE TO HIT THE TARGET?
The targets at the GLOCK Sport Shooting Foundation matches are large enough to attract beginner shooters yet challenging enough for shooters of all skill levels.

I'M NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO COMPETE
It's natural to be nervous about your first appearance, but the GLOCK staff and volunteer range officers are there to help answer your questions. Once you experience the friendly atmosphere and talk with the dozens of 'first timers' at the match, you will feel right at home.

HOW MANY ROUNDS WILL I SHOOT?
Bring at least 150 rounds for each division you choose to enter. You can sign-up and register to compete at the competition.

WHAT IS THE BEST CARTRIDGE FOR GSSP?
The 9x19 is the most popular because of the soft recoil and low cost of ammunition. However, .40, .45 G.A.P., .45 Auto, 10MM, .357, and .380 calibers can be found among all divisions.

HOW MANY DIVISIONS ARE THERE?
Ten divisions of competition separate the GLOCK models into groups based on their respective features. Most competitors shoot in the "Amateur" class will experienced competitors at the top levels are placed in the "Master" class.

CAN I WIN STUFF?
The GLOCK Sport Shooting Foundation awards cash prizes as well as GLOCK pistols and other products to competitors. Some prizes are based on performance while others ae by chance. If you are eligible for special categories, there are prizes for high junior males, junior female, adult female, guardian female, senior, super senor and challenged competitors. Most importantly, a GSSP match will strengthen your skills and present you with the opportunity to develop new friendships. The typical GSSF outdoor match draws about 450 entries who compete for a prize list that averages 26 GLOCK firearms awards and over $6,000 in cash and GLOCK merchandise.

DO I HAVE TO COMPETE?
No. You can volunteer to assist with the overall event or come help out at the Woman With A Weapon table.
